From the President:
While it is nice to be friendly to your partner, with the new language of wdp* online, don’t forget your opponents. They also merit a ‘well bid’ or ‘well played’. Trying to soften up our words in the chat line can make a bridge session more fun for everyone. No smiling faces are visible, so let’s be creative.
Please disregard the date for the AGM in the calendar.
We have decided to hold this year’s AGM on Monday 26 October at 5.30pm, in the clubrooms Covid restrictions permitting.
Best wishes,
Pam
*wdp = well done partner

Have you read the latest versions of the CBC COVID-19 Safety Plan and Checklist for Members?
If you are playing in the face-to-face sessions at CBC, or are thinking of doing so, you need to read the latest versions of our COVID-19 Safety Plan and Checklist for Members: COVID-19 Safety Plan & Checklist & Checklist.
- Both documents have been revised since their initial versions of late June 2020 in light of our experience with the resumption of bridge sessions at the club and the ACT Government’s updates about COVID-19.
- The amended text is clearly marked to make it easy for you to find what has changed.
- The Checklist provides an easy to follow list of what players are required to do so that the sessions are safe for everyone and CBC meets its responsibilities as a business and an employer.
For the week commencing Monday 17 August we have three sessions scheduled at the clubrooms
- Tuesday afternoon 1:15pm Sally Barber
- Wednesday morning 10.00am John Donovan
- Friday afternoon 1.15pm Bruce Crossman
Occasional notes
Vouchers: Must be purchased five vouchers at a time, preferably in advance by direct deposit into CBC bank account:
- BSB: 032 730
- Account no: 355176
Please remember not to arrive at the clubrooms until 20 minutes before the start of play.
It is important that members minimise moving around the playing room during the session. Please wait for the Director to call the move before moving to the next table.

Lockdown Week 2:
Struck up a conversation with a spider today. Seems nice, he‘s a web designer.
The spread of Covid-19 is dependent on two factors:
- How dense the population is
