From the President:
Thank you very much to the wonderful Monday morning players on New Year’s Eve who quietly took down the decorations throughout the morning when they had time. I was delighted to find very little left to do when I arrived. I will be leaving out many, but I am aware of the help of Lesley Gunson, Di Hawke and Janet Kahler.
Please contact me in the next day or two if you can assist on Tuesday 8 January with set up at the Rex Hotel for the Summer Festival of Bridge.
If you have offered and I haven’t contacted you in the last couple of days, please get in touch again. I don’t want any offers to slip through the cracks.
We also need a merry band for Thursday 17 January at the conclusion of play in the South West Pacific Teams. On that day fifteen minutes from all CBC members who are playing would help a lot.
Jump in now with Summer Festival entries before it is too late.
Best wishes,
Pam
Lighter Moments
If you are not happy with the New Year resolutions that you made, you can try again on the Orthodox New Year (14 January) and Chinese New Year (5 February). After that I can’t help you

Helpers Needed for Summer Festival of Bridge
CBC again has the opportunity to help one of the major bridge tournaments in Australia to run smoothly and also to earn some money for our club.
We need many helpers to assist with setting up at the Rex Hotel on Tuesday 8 January, and to pack down after play on Thursday 17 January.
Not all the jobs are hard physical work – e.g. tablecloths, bidding boxes etc.
